Been awhile...

It has been some time since I have written on our blog and I apologize for that. Let me update you on what the Wisnefske 6 have been doing since my last post in November and then I will start to update more often.

In November, we celebrated our 5 year anniversary in Wisconsin. Bruce was recognized for his 5 years at Sargento. Cannot believe how time flies. If someone had told me when we got married that we would be living in Sheboygan Falls WI and loving every minute of it, I would have laughed my butt off.

December was a crazy month for us. Zack turned 4 years. Time sure flies by. We spent a weekend in Wisconsin Dells at the Wilderness waterpark with Grandma, Grandpa, Jason and the cousins. It was a great time for all. Topping off our month was the craziness of Christmas. With 4 kids, it is amazing how crazy things can get.

Starting now, I will try to write monthly if not more as milestones in the Wisnefske household start popping up.

Quiet time in the room = liquid stiches ;o)

In the mist of packing for Thanksgiving travel to Minnesota, I took a quick break to get the twins down for a nap. Zachary was sent to his room to watch a movie and relax. While changing diapers Zack came down crying because he had hit his head. As usual, he cried for a short time and went back to his room. About 20 minutes later he came back to me and I noticed his neck and hair were covered in blood. I freaked!! After some frantic calls and waiting for dad to come home, I ended up bringing Zack to the pediatricians office for liquid stitches. There is a first for everything I guess...

He is incredibly proud of that "boo-boo" and tells everyone he went to the doctor and shows off the shaved area to.

We figured Zack was up in his room sitting in his chair, flipped backwards and hit his head on the corner of his bunk bed.

I am sure this will not be our last visit for stitches with 4 kiddos, but I am hoping they are few and far between.

Where does time go??

I cannot believe it, but 8 months today my babies made their appearance into this world 4 1/2 weeks early. Now they are 2 little individuals, each with their own personalities. Max is my BIG flirt, just like his 2 brothers used to be. Lizzy is shy but beautiful. Both are sitting up by themselves and are becoming quite independent. Wow does time fly by.

Halloween 2010

Tonight the 4 kids and I went trick-or-treating in our town. Nick and Zack got a TON of candy. The neat part of the night was that this was the first year that Zack fully understood the rules of trick-or-treating. In the past, he would go to one house, get a piece of candy, and be done. After Halloween, Zack lived in his Spiderman costume until it finally tore into a 2 piece costume.

First day of school

Today Nick started 2nd grade at Sheboygan Falls Elementary School. Zack started 3-K at Great Beginnings Preschool 3 days a week. It was so hard to bring them both, even though we were all ready for school to end. Both boys loved their first days. I can only hope that their love of school continues.

As if I don't have enough on my plate

So, today Bruce and I came to the conclusion that I will not be able to work a full time job outside of the home for many years with 4 kiddos. With that being said, we have decided that I should go back to school via the Internet to be a Medical Transcriptionist. As id I am not busy enough, I have now added school to my busy day. I am hoping it works out as good as I hope. I want to work from home with the availability to be involved with the kids and their school activities.

If you don't hear from me for a while you know why...

A sons love

You never know how much your children truly listen to you until they give you an answer to a question you never expect to hear. Bruce's birthday is this Thursday and I told Nick and Zack that we needed to think about what to get daddy for his birthday. Nick told me he knew what Bruce wanted...He proceeded to go upstairs and come down with the Bass Pro Shop catalog. He opened it up to the page with the pontoons and showed me the one Bruce showed him. He told me we could get him one of those, it only costs ???. Would have loved to honor his plan and Bruce's wish, but I am thinking we may have to go smaller with the gift.

A Blessed Weekend

This weekend met every expectation I could have ever had. This past Sunday we had Max and Elizabeth baptised.

For the weekend we had my parents, sister and brother up. It was the first time my sister had met her new niece and nephew, the second for my brother and parents. It was AWESOME.

On Saturday Jason, Kym and I went shopping for an outfit to wear the next day. We went bumming around Sheboygan while the kiddos stayed behind with daddy and the grandparents. It felt like old times, minus the fighting between Kym and I. It brought back some great memories and made me wish for some of those days again. With Kym living in Texas, me in Wisconsin and Jason in Minnesota we don't get to just "hang" like that very often. It was truly memoriable.

Sunday was the "big" day. Besides the twins baptism at church we also congratulated our graduates and sent off our kids on their mission to Kentucky. It was a long service, but really neat. The baptism took place first, then the graduates. They managed to tie the sacrament of baptism into the graduate recognition by giving them laundry bags for college and comparing them to the waters used for their baptism. It was really touching. Neither Max or Lizzy cried while getting baptized and the day was just really special for both of them. We had a great time celebrating with our family and friends.

Finally, Auntie Kym took some pictures of the kids and our family while visiting. Because it rained on Saturday, we had to do these pictures on Sunday. As always, she got some good ones. Pictures that really represent our dynamics. It really hit home to Bruce and I how big our family has gotten. It is truly a gift an we thank God each and every day for trusting us with these beautiful children he so graciously gave us.

My little baseball player

Today was Nick's first baseball game of the season. He is such a great player. I am very proud of him. They don't hit off a Tee anymore, but have the coach pitch to them. Nick got 3 really good hits for this game. I can't believe how big he is getting. Playing "real" baseball. Amazing!!

Happy Memorial Day!!

I want to start this entry out by recognizing all the men and women who have or are still serving our country. Thank you for all you do.

What a wonderful weekend my family had. It all started off with my brother and his kids coming to spend the weekend with us from MN. It was so good to see all of them. We spent Saturday and Sunday morning hanging out at Kohler-Andre State Park playing in Lake Michigan. We all had a blast. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Saturday night I took Logan, Ethan, Emma, Nick and Jason to the races in Plymouth. We weren't disappointed. Saw some crashes and even better racing. I don't think Ethan blinked much the whole time we were there. He reminds me of Zack where you can read his emotions so easily on his face. Finally, Sunday afternoon and into the night we had a BBQ with friends and family. All the kids had so much fun running in our newly remodeled backyard. By the end of the night, we had very tired and dirty kiddos. On a side note, the food, prepared by Bruce, was the best. Overall, this weekend was one of the best we had had in a long time. Thanks to all who joined
us.

Sleep

Well, who would've thought sleep was so important to everyday life. With 10 week old twins, it is even more rare. So, last night when I was awoken by Lizzy to eat, I realized I had just gotten more than 4 hours sleep in one block. (usually up every 3) This morning, I feel like a new woman. Haven't gotten that good of sleep since January. Let's hope this keeps up. Keeping fingers crossed.

Okay, here we go...

My sister has been pushing me to create a blog for my family for years. With my life getting crazier everyday, I figured now was as good as any to get this going. My hopes with this blog is to not only give those who read my entries updates on our family, but to write down those funny things my kids say each day or to remember fun days we have spent together as a family. I always mean to write these down, but never seem to have the time. They are forgotten so quickly. I seem to get the time to get on my computer each day, so hopefully I can create something to preserve all those precious memories and give one and all a good laugh on occasion. Wish me luck!!
